These are courses developed for Food & Beverage service operation under the Hospitality Tourism sub sector of Food & Beverage by the Department of Skills Development, Ministry of Human Resources There is a high demand for skilled personnel in this field as the industry is developing rapidly.

 

The Malaysian Government has noted that food and beverages represents one of the core components of tourist leisure and business tourism and the need for skilled personnel from the Food & Beverage service industry is in demand.

 

The Food & Beverage service area is also recognised globally as a huge growth area and there is a need for properly trained personnel at all levels. This will provide a structured career path and career guidance for individuals and organizations alike.

 

We provide courses at Level 2 & 3:

 

F & B Service Operation (SKM LEVEL II –Duration: 6 months)

Upon completion, the student is competent in performing a significant range of varied work activities performed in a variety of contexts. Some of the activities are non-routine and require individual responsibility and autonomy.

• Beverage Service Operation Function

• Food Service Operation Function

F & B Service Operation (SKM LEVEL III –Duration: 1 year)

Upon completion, the student is competent in performing a broad range of varied work activities performed in a variety of contexts, most of which are complex and non-routine. There is considerable responsibility and autonomy, and control or guidance of others is often required.

The Job Competencies include:

• F & B Operation and Service Supervision Activities

• F & B Guest Reservation Operation

• Specialized Food and Beverage Service

• F&B Eventuality and Complaint Handling

• F&B Supervisory Function

 • F&B Administrative Function

ELECTIVE

 • F&B Butler Service;

 

 

The Certificate

Upon successful completion of the course, the trainees will be awarded the Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM). This course is fully certified by the Department of Skills Development, Ministry of Human Resources Malaysia.

 

 

Admission Requirements

(Minimum Qualification)

 

• Completed PMR / SPM / SPMV
• Malaysian Citizen
• Aged between 16-30
• Have never taken a similar course at any skills institute
